Minister of Industry, Farid Kourtel, presented the 2027 sector budget to the Finance and Budget Committee of the National People's Assembly. The proposed budget stands at 7.13 billion DA in commitment authorizations and 40.53 billion DA in payment credits. A key highlight is the prioritization of existing projects, with 96.4% of investment credits—totaling 33.40 billion DA out of a 34.65 billion DA envelope—reserved for ongoing operations. Conversely, new projects represent only 0.5% of the budget and are primarily limited to studies. The ministry also aims to rationalize administrative expenditures while increasing support for quality, innovation, and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
