Algeria: Non-hydrocarbon exports reach $4 billion mark in 2026

Algeria’s non-hydrocarbon exports increased by 10% during the first eight months of 2026, totaling $4 billion, as reported by Zohir Moussaoui from the Ministry of Foreign Trade. The country aims to reach an annual target of $5 billion. Food products, including chocolate, olive oil, and biscuits, played a key role, with exports reaching $213 million, a 15% increase compared to 2025. This reflects the growth of local production and agricultural self-sufficiency. Meanwhile, President Abdelmadjid Tebboune recently warned exporters regarding the low rate of foreign currency repatriation. Separately, hydrocarbon exports reached $37.5 billion between January and September 2026, according to official data.
