The port of Djen Djen, Jijel, held a simulation exercise at the General Bitumen Company to evaluate operational readiness and coordination among security stakeholders. The drill scenario involved two individuals attempting to infiltrate the port for illegal migration, using a deliberate fire as a diversion to reach a commercial ship. Following an alert by a security guard, various units, including the Civil Protection, maritime border police, coast guards, and port authorities, mobilized to the scene. Civil defense teams successfully extinguished the fire, and the border police apprehended the intruders. The operation aimed to assess emergency response times and strengthen the security protocols governing the port’s infrastructure and commercial activities.
