A recent executive decree published in the Official Gazette announces the creation of a permanent commission responsible for monitoring and processing import applications. Led by the Minister of Foreign Trade, the commission includes representatives from the Ministry of Finance, the Bank of Algeria, the ABEF, and the CREA. The body is tasked with reviewing import files for both production purposes and internal requirements. It is empowered to expedite the handling of sensitive goods to ensure national supply and operational continuity for production units. The commission will analyze data from the national digital platform and may establish specialized working groups. The chairperson is required to submit a weekly activity report to the Prime Minister.
