Armenian President Vahagn Khatchatourian welcomed the President of the Council of the Nation, Azzouz Naciri, in Yerevan on October 15. Representing President Abdelmadjid Tebboune at the UN Biodiversity Conference, Naciri discussed with the Armenian head of state ways to enhance bilateral cooperation in sectors such as agriculture and food processing, as well as parliamentary ties. The two sides also reviewed regional and international issues. Naciri expressed appreciation for Armenia's recognition of the State of Palestine, while reiterating Algeria's consistent support for the Sahrawi people's right to self-determination. The Armenian President confirmed his country’s commitment to the two-state solution regarding Palestine and to a fair political settlement for the Western Sahara issue under UN supervision.
