Judicial investigation launched into deliberate food waste incidents
The Prosecutor General at the Algiers Court has ordered immediate, comprehensive investigations following the circulation of videos on social media showing individuals dumping edible vegetables and food products in remote areas. These actions, intended to cause artificial shortages and fuel price speculation, are considered by the Public Prosecution as a direct assault on national food security and the economic order. The investigation, overseen by the National Center for Combating Organized Crime, aims to dismantle the organized networks behind these acts and identify all participants, including financiers and instigators. The authorities have vowed to prosecute those involved to the fullest extent of the law and have encouraged citizens to report any such suspicious activities.
