Riyad Mahrez scored his maiden goal for Al-Shamal during their 3-2 defeat against Qatar SC in the 2026-2027 Qatari league season. The 35-year-old Algerian international converted a penalty in the 65th minute, narrowing the deficit after his side trailed by two goals at halftime. Although Thiago Silva later equalized, Yohan Boli secured the win for Qatar SC. Mahrez joined Al-Shamal in October following a successful stint at Al Ahli Saudi, where he secured two Asian Champions League titles and one Saudi Super Cup.
