National Migration Day: President Tebboune praises the loyalty of the Algerian diaspora

Marking the 65th anniversary of the October 17, 1961 demonstrations, President Abdelmadjid Tebboune expressed his pride in the patriotic commitment of the Algerian diaspora. The President reaffirmed the state's dedication to protecting the interests of Algerians abroad and ensuring their connection to the homeland through eased travel procedures. He recalled the historic 1961 protests in Paris, where Algerians stood against the colonial curfew and the brutal violence of police forces led by Maurice Papon. The President highlighted that those who faced live fire and were tragically drowned in the Seine proved their unbreakable bond with the liberation struggle. These sacrifices during the final stages of the fight for sovereignty remain a testament to the character and deep-rooted identity of the Algerian people.
