The World Food Programme (WFP) has warned that a severe lack of funding has forced significant cutbacks in its operations across the Gaza Strip, leaving 500,000 people without monthly food assistance. The program has scaled down its reach from 1.6 million to 1.1 million beneficiaries. Sean Hughes, the WFP country director, highlighted that conditions on the ground remain dire, with families continuing to face displacement and ongoing airstrikes. Official assessments indicate that approximately 1.4 million people, or two-thirds of the population, still endure acute food insecurity and rely on aid to survive.
