At least 11 Spanish soldiers have been injured during confrontations with migrants in Ceuta, following a surge of illegal border crossings in late July that prompted the deployment of the military to support security forces. According to defense officials, incidents have included rock-throwing and scuffles during border patrols. Notably, an attack in the "Benzú" area in late August resulted in four soldiers being wounded and 12 people being detained. The military has filed approximately ten complaints against individuals accused of assaulting service members or inciting violence. Defense Minister Margarita Robles stated that around 4,100 troops were stationed in the city during September and confirmed plans to visit in November to honor the soldiers involved in the mission.
