The commercial port of Mostaganem has initiated the transfer of private sector commercial activities to other national ports, following the decree by President Abdelmadjid Tebboune to reserve the facility exclusively for public sector imports. An organizational meeting was held with economic operators to plan this phased transition. Within 15 days, the first phase will begin, covering the import of commercial vehicles and the activities of self-entrepreneurs. A final deadline of December 31 has been set for the full completion of this transfer, with exceptions made for already scheduled cargo. Port authorities have opted for a flexible strategy to ensure supply chain continuity and minimize disruption, emphasizing ongoing dialogue with stakeholders to improve overall operational efficiency and port performance.
