While those who received the grant in 2026 do not need to reapply, the window is open to new eligible citizens, including those affected by the minimum wage increase to 24,000 DA last January. This initiative complements an existing social safety net, which includes the monthly Solidarity Allowance (AFS), unemployment benefits, and free healthcare for the uninsured via the 'Chifa' card. The government continues to prioritize these social transfers, which encompass broad subsidies for basic food staples and energy, reaffirming the state's commitment to supporting citizens in need.
