The Ministry of Culture has announced the identification of 510 new archaeological and natural sites in the In Azaoua-Tadrart region, southeast of Djanet. These findings include 207 surface sites, 265 funerary monuments, 29 rock art sites, and nine natural sites. During the second scientific symposium on the preservation of rock art sites, officials noted that Algeria currently manages five major cultural parks, with a sixth under development in the Aurès, covering a protected area of over one million square kilometers. The Tassili n'Ajjer park, a UNESCO World Heritage site since 1982, alone contains over 2,000 rock art stations and approximately 30,000 engravings. The symposium brings together 100 international and national experts to explore the application of modern technology and artificial intelligence in heritage conservation and to establish the 'Algiers Declaration' as a strategic framework.
