Parliamentary mandates: MPs required to resolve professional incompatibility

Members of the tenth legislative term have begun submitting legal documents to the National People's Assembly's Legal Affairs Committee to verify their full-time availability for parliamentary duties. This follows an administrative directive requiring parliamentary group leaders to ensure all incompatibility cases are settled by October 11. Some MPs have faced delays due to difficulties in obtaining necessary documentation from their previous employers. Under Article 118 of the Constitution, which prohibits holding other offices or professional positions simultaneously with a parliamentary seat, affected deputies are granted a 30-day window to choose between their seat and their conflicting job. Failure to comply within this deadline results in automatic resignation.
