The Algerian Mixed Martial Arts team secured the 2026 African Championship title following a dominant performance in Abidjan, Côte d'Ivoire, between October 12 and 16. The national squad earned a total of eight medals, comprising six gold, one silver, and one bronze. Led by coach Malik Barouk, the delegation of twelve athletes outperformed the host nation, Côte d'Ivoire, who took second place, and Burkina Faso, who finished third. For the national technical staff, this continental event served as a crucial opportunity to measure the capability of Algerian fighters at the highest competitive level.
