The Algerian Interprofessional Office of Cereals (OAIC) has purchased approximately 600,000 tonnes of milling wheat in an international tender that concluded on Tuesday. According to market participants, the estimated price per tonne ranged between $326 and $326.50, including cost and freight. The shipments are expected to originate from various global sources, such as the Baltic region, Russia, Romania, Bulgaria, and Argentina. The delivery schedule for these supplies is set for December, with specific timelines adjusted based on the origin of the grain. This purchase takes place against the backdrop of global wheat trade disruptions and recent price fluctuations. Notably, Algeria continues to source its grain from diverse international markets while keeping French wheat excluded from its recent procurement activities.
