Paris Administrative Court overturns implicit residence permit denial

The Paris Administrative Court has annulled an implicit rejection of an exceptional residence permit application submitted by an Egyptian national. The case originated in summer 2025, when the police prefecture failed to respond to the initial request and subsequently ignored a formal demand for the grounds of the implicit refusal. The court ruled that the administration’s silence was illegal, emphasizing that such measures require proper justification. The prefect has been ordered to re-examine the file within three months, grant a temporary stay permit to the individual, and pay 1,000 euros in legal costs.
