Algeria is experiencing a striking meteorological contrast this autumn, with heavy rainfall hitting the Sahara region while the northern parts of the country enjoy sunny weather. The National Office of Meteorology (ONM) has confirmed this unusual pattern through several orange weather alerts. On Thursday, October 15, regions including Tindouf, In Guezzam, and Djanet are expected to receive up to 30 mm of rain. Furthermore, an extended alert is in effect for numerous provinces, such as Adrar, Tamanrasset, Béchar, Ouargla, and Ghardaïa, with predicted rainfall amounts reaching 50 mm. Authorities have warned residents to remain cautious due to the risk of flooding, particularly on roads, as these heavy rains are expected to continue through Friday.
