New Mining Law: Algeria's Strategy to Boost British Investment

At an Algerian-British forum held in Algiers, Secretary of State for Mining and Mining Industries, Karima Bekir Tafer, stated that the new mining legislation provides a highly competitive environment for international investors. The reform simplifies administrative processes and enhances transparency, supporting major national projects like the Ghar Djebilet iron mine, phosphate, and zinc development. UK Ambassador James Downer confirmed that British companies are eager to engage with Algeria's strategic mining sector. Martin Roper, head of the Algerian-British Business Council, lauded the new measures, noting that they create a favorable climate for British firms to contribute their technical expertise to the Algerian market.
