Sonelgaz Renouvelables amends tender for Algeria's first wind farms
Sonelgaz Renouvelables has issued an amendment to its national tender for feasibility studies regarding the establishment of the first two wind farms in Algeria. The 200 MW project will be split equally between the provinces of Laghouat and Djelfa, with 100 MW allocated to each. The rectification, dated October 20, 2026, emphasizes that comprehensive feasibility studies must be completed before construction begins, covering engineering, civil works, equipment procurement, and grid connection. The tender invites national companies with proven experience in projects of at least 20 MW to submit their proposals. The deadline for technical and financial bids is set for November 25. Expert Boukhalfa Yaici noted that these studies are essential for assessing wind patterns and precise project costs to ensure optimal production and profitability.
