Russian security services thwart drone attack on military airfield

On October 13, Russia's Federal Security Service (FSB) announced it had prevented a planned attack by Ukrainian intelligence against the Baltimor military airfield in Voronej. A Russian woman, recruited by Ukrainian services in 2022, was apprehended after being tasked with setting up a staging area in a rented garage near the base. Inside the facility, security agents recovered nine drone assembly kits and foreign-made explosives. The scheme involved launching drones from the site, which were to be remotely operated from Ukraine to target military hardware and personnel. The suspect is currently in custody, and authorities are working to uncover additional individuals involved in the plot.
