The Algerian national security services have dismantled an international criminal network involving 61 Moroccan citizens, including a former member of the Moroccan army. The group was apprehended in Oran this October while preparing to carry out acts of sabotage against public order. According to security investigations, the individuals entered Algeria by flying into Tunis and then illegally crossing through rugged mountainous paths in the El Kala region near the border. They subsequently traveled to Oran to execute their plans. During the operation, authorities seized Moroccan passports along with various sums of foreign currency and Moroccan dirhams. The suspects have been brought before the public prosecutor at the specialized penal center in Oran.
