Tebboune praises economic progress and reaffirms partnership with business leaders

President Abdelmadjid Tebboune held a meeting with Algerian business operators at an event hosted by the Algerian Economic Renewal Council (CREA) in Algiers. In a steady address, the President expressed his confidence in the private sector, dismissing concerns over recent import anomalies as the actions of a "minority of minorities." He urged entrepreneurs to join forces with the state to combat those attempting to deplete foreign currency reserves. Tebboune highlighted the nation's economic milestones, including the structural reduction of import costs, the growth of the pharmaceutical industry, and the increasing contribution of manufacturing to the GDP. With GDP growth projected at 4% for 2026 and over 13,000 confirmed investment projects, the government is aiming for a robust economic transition by 2027. The President emphasized that this shift will remain socially conscious, promising a smooth transition for citizens and announcing the implementation of a one-stop-shop for investors starting January 1st.
