The Ebola epidemic in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) has spread to its eighth province, North-Ubangi, located along the border with the Central African Republic, where two cases and one death have been reported. Since the outbreak began in May, the total number of infections in the DRC has reached 9,415, with 4,536 fatalities, representing a 48.2% case fatality rate. Meanwhile, Kenya has raised its alert levels following the confirmation of seven Ebola cases, three of which involve healthcare workers. Kenyan health officials confirmed that 130 contacts have been traced and are currently in quarantine. The government maintains that the risk of community transmission to the general public remains low.
