Prime Minister Seifi Gharib has signed an executive decree establishing a committee responsible for processing import requests. Led by the Minister of Foreign Trade, the committee includes representatives from the finance sector, the Bank of Algeria, and the professional association of banks and financial institutions. Its core objective is to evaluate import needs and coordinate between various sectors to streamline the approval process. Priority is given to urgent products required to ensure national market stability and the continuous operation of production facilities. The committee will analyze data from digital import platforms and provide periodic reports to the Prime Minister, while having the authority to consult experts to improve the efficiency and oversight of import operations.
