FC Barcelona fined over unauthorized talks with Julian Alvarez
The Spanish Football Federation has imposed a 602-euro fine on FC Barcelona following a complaint from Atletico Madrid. The dispute centered on Barcelona's contact with Argentine forward Julian Alvarez without proper permission, a breach of Article 133 of the federation's regulations. While Atletico had also filed a complaint with FIFA, the global governing body stated it had no jurisdiction over the matter. Julian Alvarez has since apologized to the Atletico fans, acknowledging that his public comments during the 2026 World Cup regarding his desire to play for Barcelona were a mistake that caused frustration among supporters.
