Algeria and Germany explore strategic partnership in stem cell therapy
Minister of Pharmaceutical Industry, Wassim Kouidri, visited the German city of Bergisch Gladbach at the invitation of Miltenyi Biotec to discuss the development of innovative treatments in Algeria. Accompanied by representatives from the Saidal group, the delegation focused on localizing stem cell therapy to improve access for cancer patients and those with complex illnesses, ultimately reducing the need for treatment abroad. The mission aligns with national efforts to bolster health sovereignty and establish the country as a regional hub for advanced biotechnologies. The Minister emphasized that the partnership aims for long-term industrial and scientific collaboration, centered on knowledge transfer and local training. This initiative complements existing cooperation with Sweden's Karolinska Institute, aiming to integrate industrial technology with high-level medical research to strengthen national self-reliance.
