UN commission reports crimes against humanity in West Bank and Gaza
A UN international commission of inquiry has issued a report accusing occupying authorities of committing crimes against humanity, including extermination, torture, and sexual violence against Palestinians. The report highlights that these acts, fueled by discriminatory motives, have intensified since October 2023. Commission Chair Srinivas Muralidhar stated that military operations are part of a broader strategy to forcibly displace civilians and destroy their livelihoods. In the West Bank, data shows a sharp increase in fatalities, while 33,000 residents were displaced from three refugee camps in 2025, according to the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights. The report also criticizes the Palestinian Authority for suppressing political dissent and failing to conduct impartial investigations. While international bodies continue to warn of potential genocide, the occupation authorities have rejected the findings, labeling them as hostile attempts to undermine their state.
