US Dollar rises against the Algerian Dinar in both official and parallel markets
The US dollar strengthened against the Algerian dinar on Wednesday, October 28, 2026, gaining ground in both official banking channels and the black market. According to the Bank of Algeria, the exchange rate reached 135.1187 dinars, maintaining an upward trend noted since late October. Meanwhile, the euro saw a slight decline on the official market to 150.5966 dinars. In the informal market, the dollar saw a significant spike, with 100 dollars trading at 24,800 dinars compared to 24,500 dinars the previous day. This trend is driven by the global strength of the dollar and an increased local demand for foreign currency, largely fueled by private vehicle imports.
