The Algerian Presidency announced on Tuesday, October 13, the appointment of Lounès Magramane as the new Chief of Staff to the President. He succeeds the late Boualem Boualem, who passed away on October 5 in Geneva. Prior to this appointment, Magramane served as the Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs since June 2023. Born in 1961 in Boumerdès and an alumnus of the National School of Administration (ENA), the career diplomat has previously served as Algeria's ambassador to the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Hungary, and Niger.
