Souk Ahras: Over 250 kg of unsafe meat seized

National Gendarmerie forces in the border municipality of Ouled Driss, Souk Ahras, intercepted an attempt to distribute more than 2.5 quintals of tainted red meat. The haul was discovered during a vehicle inspection; the meat originated from an illegal slaughterhouse lacking basic sanitation. Veterinary experts and commercial inspectors confirmed the meat was unfit for human consumption due to improper slaughtering methods and a total lack of refrigeration or sanitary transport conditions. The confiscated stock was destroyed, and legal proceedings have been initiated against the individual responsible for the violation.
