The municipality of Ain Diss in Oum El Bouaghi province held an extraordinary session yesterday to elect Hamayzia Djemaoui as the new head of the municipal council. The election was triggered by the precautionary suspension of the former mayor, who was convicted following legal proceedings. Overseen by the head of Ksar Sbahi district, the session saw the sole candidate from the El Moustakbal Front party secure the position with the support of the six remaining active council members out of a total of thirteen. This administrative move aims to finalize the current electoral term, as seven other council members remain under suspension. The new mayor's deputies will be appointed shortly in accordance with legal regulations.
