The Sabre World Cup for juniors and cadets concluded on Sunday at the Miloud-Hadefi Olympic Complex in Oran. Team gold medals were awarded to Turkey in the men's category, after defeating Italy (45-43), and to Russia in the women's category, following a 45-34 win over Italy. The event saw 244 fencers from 34 countries participate. Algeria's teams were eliminated in the group stage, placing 8th for men and 10th for women. National coach Hama Antar noted that the event was essential preparation for the upcoming African Championships in Setif this February. Previously, Italian fencer Vittoria Mocci and Turkish fencer Furkan Yaman won the individual titles on Saturday.
