Hebrew media reports have disclosed a heated dispute between Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and army chief of staff Eyal Zamir at the Palmachim airbase. The friction reportedly stems from Netanyahu's directives for an unspecified military operation, which Zamir urged to delay, requesting further deliberation and a signed legal mandate due to fears of an unintended conflict with Iran ahead of elections. Military sources cited concerns that the political leadership might be exploiting the Iranian issue for electoral gain. Netanyahu has dismissed these reports as nonsense, denying any disagreement. However, he had previously stated that he instructed the army and Mossad to work toward regime change in Iran.
