The Mohammed Boudiaf Public Hospital in Ouargla has achieved a significant medical milestone by successfully performing its first biopsy on a transplanted kidney. This success, led by the nephrology and hemodialysis department, highlights the growing capabilities of healthcare services in southern Algeria. The patient was discharged in stable condition following the procedure. This development is part of a national strategy to decentralize medical care, sparing patients in the south the burden of traveling to major university hospitals for complex diagnostics.
