Massive Cyberattack Hits Binance: $3 Billion Frozen After Security Breach
Binance, the world's leading cryptocurrency exchange, has fallen victim to a major security breach resulting in the theft of digital assets estimated at $6.3 billion. The company stated that, in collaboration with partners, it has successfully tracked and frozen $3 billion of these funds. Co-founder Yi He confirmed that the platform will cover all losses caused by the incident. Preliminary findings indicate that hackers may have compromised a laptop belonging to one of the company's engineers to infiltrate the internal systems. Consequently, Binance has temporarily halted deposits and withdrawals while strengthening its security protocols, assuring users that their funds remain secure and that efforts to recover the remaining assets are ongoing.
