Algerian Football Federation Shake-up: 8 Clubs Sanctioned and New Youth Talent Strategy
The Algerian Football Federation (FAF), led by Walid Sadi, has implemented significant administrative and developmental changes. Eight clubs—CR Belouizdad, CS Constantine, MC Oran, JS Saoura, US Biskra, ES Mostaganem, Olympique Rouissat, and USM Bel Abbès—have been banned from registering new players due to outstanding financial issues. On the development front, a national talent discovery program for the U15 category is set to launch in 2027, featuring four regional squads. Additionally, the federation is expanding its U20 futsal program and increasing support for women's football ahead of the 2028 Olympic qualifiers. The federation also confirmed the use of VAR in 88% of league matches played so far and set December 17 for the Algerian Cup draw.
