Timimoun: Hot Air Balloons and Kites Light Up the Red Oasis Sky

The skies over Timimoun, known as the Red Oasis, have become a vibrant display of kites and hot air balloons as part of the international 'Algerian Balloon Festival'. This sports and tourism event has drawn large crowds, offering stunning visuals above the dunes and traditional Ksour of the Gourara region. Coinciding with the start of the Saharan tourist season, the festival features over 40 national and international clubs and aims to boost local tourism. Running until November 2nd, the event includes a diverse program of handicraft exhibitions, folklore performances, children's workshops, and artistic evenings. Visitors have praised the initiative, noting that hosting such a festival in Timimoun effectively highlights the region's significant tourism appeal.
