The investigating judge at the National Penal Pole for Combating Terrorism and Organized Crime in Sidi M'hamed has ordered the pretrial detention of 10 individuals involved in an international drug trafficking ring. Following an operation by the national police’s central anti-narcotics unit, authorities seized 2.4 million units of pregabaline and arrested 10 suspects caught in the act. Five additional suspects remain at large. The detainees face serious charges, including organized cross-border drug trafficking, money laundering, and undermining national security and public health.
