The Minister of Health, Abdelhak Saihi, stated that the national cancer registry network is a fundamental pillar for the success of Algeria's cancer control policy. During the annual meeting of the network, it was reported that breast cancer is the most common among women with 14,712 new cases annually, while prostate cancer leads among men with 4,334 cases. The minister emphasized the necessity of strengthening prevention and early detection through evidence-based planning. He noted that the data provided by the network since 2015 supports strategic decision-making, helping to guide investments in oncology centers, medical equipment, and the provision of essential medications under the 2025-2035 national strategy.
