The Algerian U15 national team suffered a 4-3 defeat against Kenya on Thursday in Baku, during the placement matches of the «FIFA 2026» tournament. Despite an impressive hat-trick by Abdelkrim Meharzi, the team could not secure the win, visibly affected by the physical exhaustion of playing two matches in a single day. Earlier that morning, coach Karim Ziani's side had secured a 2-1 victory over Estonia, with goals scored by Meharzi and Mohamed Islam Laib. Following an earlier elimination by Guinea on penalties and a loss to Albania, the team is currently competing for positions 25 to 32 and will play a final match to determine their ultimate ranking between 27th and 28th place.
