International Drug Ring Dismantled: 113kg of Cocaine and Massive Psychotropic Cargo Seized

The Dar El Beida Criminal Court has handed down sentences ranging from the death penalty to imprisonment against a 16-member international drug trafficking network. The case, which concluded in October 2025, followed the tracking of a tractor-trailer transporting 113 kg of cocaine and over 225,000 prégabaline capsules from the southern borders to a farm near Algiers. The traffickers used sophisticated concealment methods and encrypted messaging to evade detection. Special security forces raided the site during the unloading process, resulting in the arrests and the seizure of significant cash amounts. These verdicts are the first to be issued under the new legal framework concerning the prevention and repression of illegal drug trafficking.
