Religious Affairs Ministry launches new strategy to modernize training programs
Minister of Religious Affairs and Wakfs, Youcef Belmehdi, addressed a national conference in Algiers, emphasizing the need to update training curricula with digital technologies, artificial intelligence, and statistical sciences. The initiative aims to equip religious staff to address modern challenges, including cybersecurity and drug-related issues, while promoting moderate values. This effort continues a 12-year reform process. The strategy also focuses on strengthening Algeria's presence in Africa by hosting students from the Sahel region and establishing a new training institute in Agadez, Niger, in line with the President's directives to share Algerian expertise across the continent.
