Russia-Africa Summit: President Tebboune advocates for cooperation and sovereignty
At the third Russia-Africa summit in Moscow, the Algerian President, represented by the Prime Minister, called for turning political ties into tangible economic projects. He highlighted key initiatives like the Trans-Saharan Highway and the gas pipeline to foster continental integration. The President emphasized that true stability stems from sovereignty and the right to self-determination, specifically citing the case of Western Sahara and praising Russia's support for the UN process. He warned against foreign interference, which he believes fuels crises, and argued that security must be linked to socioeconomic development. Furthermore, he advocated for a comprehensive anti-terrorism strategy and demanded a reform of the UN Security Council to ensure fair representation for Africa.
