The Ministry of Health has established the conditions for public health general practitioners in the Southern and Highland regions to join the Specialized Medical Studies program for 2026. Applicants must have at least two years of professional experience in these specific areas, be currently active, and be under 50 years of age at the time of the competitive exam. Beneficiaries will continue to receive their base salaries and existing compensation schemes from their original institutions, while their training sites will cover call-duty allowances and special bonuses. Participants are required to sign a service agreement committing them to six years of work in their original wilayas upon completion of their training. Failure to complete the training or the mandatory service period will result in the obligation to reimburse training costs. Trainees are held to the same academic and pedagogical standards as resident physicians, and their final certificates will only be issued once the mandatory service obligation has been fulfilled.
