Trans-Saharan Gas Pipeline project transitions to construction phase
Minister of State and Minister of Energy and Mines, Mohamed Arkab, announced from Moscow that the Trans-Saharan Gas Pipeline, connecting Nigeria and Algeria through Niger, has officially moved from the feasibility study phase to active implementation. Speaking at the 28th Ministerial Meeting of the Gas Exporting Countries Forum, the Minister explained that the project aims to enhance regional energy integration and facilitate gas exports to global markets, particularly in Europe. Construction on the Algerian segment began in the Adrar province in June 2026, following the update of the feasibility study.
