The Algerian Investment Promotion Agency has implemented a new strategy to strengthen the on-site monitoring of registered investment projects. Director General Omar Rekkache convened a meeting with heads of decentralized one-stop shops to establish standardized procedures for field inspections. The focus is to accurately assess the progress of project execution, equipment installation, job creation, and operational readiness. By categorizing projects based on their actual status—whether operational, under construction, stalled, or yet to start—the agency intends to update its database with reliable information. This shift from reliance on self-reported data to direct field observation is designed to better identify and resolve investment bottlenecks, thereby improving support for investors.
