On October 25, the province of Béjaïa observed National Tree Day under the slogan "Together, let us restore our forests." The official ceremony, led by the province's secretary general, Mohamed Mehdi, took place in the Oued Djemaâ forest in the Tichy municipality. The initiative resulted in the planting of approximately 650 cork oak seedlings across one hectare, alongside public awareness programs. Organized by the Forest Conservation department and the Chamber of Agriculture, this event is part of a larger regional program aiming to plant 140,000 trees this season to expand forest coverage and protect local ecosystems for future generations.
