2025 AFCON Final Dispute: CAS begins hearing in Morocco-Senegal case

The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) in Lausanne is holding a hearing this Thursday, October 8, regarding the appeal filed by the Senegalese Football Federation. The dispute stems from the 2025 AFCON final held on January 18 in Rabat, which saw Senegal withdraw from the pitch despite leading 1-0. Following the incident, the CAF declared Senegal to have forfeited the match and awarded the title to Morocco based on its regulations. The proceedings are taking place behind closed doors. The CAS has confirmed that a verdict will not be reached on the same day, with a final decision expected only after several days or weeks of deliberation.
