The 29th edition of the Algiers International Book Fair (SILA) has officially opened at the Palais des Expositions. Held under the high patronage of President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, the event will run until November 7 under the theme "Tomorrow between the pages of a book." With Saudi Arabia as the guest of honor, the fair hosts over 1,500 publishing houses from 51 countries. The program features nearly 300,000 titles and 994 cultural activities involving 220 writers from around the globe. A special pavilion, "Gourara," is dedicated to Algeria's history and memory, utilizing 3D projection mapping technology. Furthermore, the fair supports emerging talent through the "My First Book" prize and introduces an inaugural translation award for Algerian translators.
